Doodle Arcade is made for children aged 7 to 10. We built it to collect as little as possible.
There is no sign-up and no login. The app makes a random ID the first time it opens and keeps it on the device. It is not linked to a name, an email address or anything else about your child.
When your child scans a drawing, the app cuts the photo down to the sheet of paper on the device, so hands, faces and rooms are not sent. The cropped photo is sent to our server, turned into a game character in memory, and thrown away straight after. We never store photos and we never log them. The finished character is saved only on your device.
To make the character extra shiny, the finished character picture (never the photo) is sent to our image partner, Higgsfield, which returns a polished version. It is uploaded for temporary processing only. A grown-up can turn this off in the grown-ups area ("Extra shine").
If you ask for a share video, the character picture is kept on our server for up to 24 hours so the video can be made and downloaded, then deleted.
Apple processes payments. RevenueCat manages the subscription and only starts in the grown-ups area. Higgsfield polishes the finished character picture when "Extra shine" is on. That's all. We never ask for an email address and we never sell data.
In the grown-ups area, "Delete everything" removes all drawings from the device and deletes every record we hold for that device ID from our server.
